Can you believe September is next week? A few days ago, I started to switch out a few summer home decor items in our home to add a hint of fall.
That got me thinking about what pieces I could to add to my closet to transition my style to fall. I look for pieces that are versatile and layer well since the weather can be very different depending on the day and sometimes the hour!
Here’s a few items I’m considering to help me transition to my fall style.
I pulled together a few looks that would work for the office, coffee shop meetings or even a date night.
I would pair any of the tops above with jeans, black pants or dark denim trousers. It looks like all of the sweaters are long enough to be worn with leggings for a slightly more casual look.
The second set of looks are much more casual. Could be for workouts or just lounging around the house. I feel like I could live in the crew neck sweatshirt!
What favorite items are you looking to add to transition your fall style? Are there any pieces you can’t wait to pull out from previous seasons? Let me know in the comments below!
1. Long Sleeve Blouse
This blouse looks so flattering. I would wear it with off-white jeans and the slides with the bow and maybe the blazer. It would also look cute worn under the cream colored cap sleeve sweater with a statement necklace.
2. Open Front Blazer
This blazer is a staple for every wardrobe. There are hundreds of ways you can wear this. I would pair it with a white tank top and white jeans or a black blouse and black pants or jeans for a dressier look. You could layer it on top of any color top and jeans for an elevated look. Unless you live in really cold climate, this blazer will take you through all 4 seasons. Available in 24 colors.
3. Short Sleeve Sweater
I love the style of this sweater. It has the feel of a chunky knit without looking bulky. The sleeve length is flattering and makes it possible to layer under a jacket without adding thickness. The rib seam down the center adds interest as well. I would layer this sweater over the blouse shown above for cooler temperatures. It would also look cute with a white button down shirt with the collar out and the sleeves rolled up a bit. This one looks long enough to wear with leggings too. This sweater would also look nice under the “shacket” that was so popular last fall and winter. Comes in 12 colors.
4. Mules with Bow
This is a great versatile slip on shoe. I would wear it with any style of pant. I think a long skirt or dress paired with this shoe would be so chic. The bow makes it feel really feminine too. Available in 8 colors.
5. Cable Knit Sweater Vest
This oversized sweater looks so comfortable! I would wear it as shown above with a crisp white shirt and leggings. It would also look great layered over a long flowy dress belted at the waist. 23 color options.
6. Striped Sweater
This sweater is such a great transitional piece. It would look so cute paired with white jeans for late summer/early fall then worn with leggings or jeans for cooler weather. I love the crisp preppy look of the stripes. The zipper and stand up collar finish the look. Comes in 17 color combinations.
7. Set of 3 Belts
Three belts that will work with sweaters, dresses and pants. $20 for the set.
8. Cross Body Bag
This bag is compact but can hold a lot. The trendy coordinating strap can be adjusted to carry over either shoulder. Lots of great color combinations too!
9. Chain Link Slides
This timeless slide is a classic designer look for less. The buckle adds a little sparkle and decoration to an otherwise basic black shoe.
10. Pull-On Sock Boot
I see myself wearing these gorgeous boots with a flowy dress or skirt. The fitted sock look and the narrow heel look so sleek and feminine.
11. 1/4 Zip Pullover Hoodie
Another designer look for less. My daughter, Morgan, and I both have this sweatshirt in different versions. It is 50% Polyester, 50% Cotton so it is incredibly soft on the inside but it looks polished on the outside. It washes up well with no pilling. I am normally a size small but I sized up to a medium mostly for length. Goes with everything. Available in 7 colors.
12. Quick Dry Long Sleeve Shirt
This is great lightweight shirt for workouts or any time! It is UPF 50 so it works well for outdoor activities. I think the curved shape of the hem is more flattering than a straight hem. It comes in 26 colors.
13. Slip On Tennis Shoes
I love the khaki color of these shoes. The shoe is lightweight with breathable fabric. They come in 8 colors.
14. No Show Socks
Every member of my family has these socks. They are thin without compression and they stay in place really well. We’re big fans! Lots of color options too.
15. High-Waist Leggings-Black
These leggings! They’re so good. The high waist with light tummy control are a winning combination. They are lightweight and super soft. At 5’3, the full length version was a little long on me but I don’t mind a little extra fabric at the ankle. They fit the body well and are easy to get on and are so comfortable. Available in over 30 color and style options.
16. High-Waist Leggings-Beige
Same leggings as above in beige.
17. Memory Foam Slipper
I have two pairs of these slippers. They are very comfortable and warm without being hot. They have a grip sole to prevent slipping. Comes in 7 colors.
18. Crew Neck Sweatshirt
I feel like I could live in this sweatshirt. The fabric is a combination of polyester, cotton and spandex so it will hold it shape and have some stretch. The fit looks stylish and not boxy. Amazon recommended a size medium for me so I’d say size up. Comes in 14 colors.
Whew! What a round up! I hope this collection helps you get started on transitioning to your fall style! Let me know if there are items you’re looking for that I can help you find. For more outfit inspiration, check out On-the-Go Fashion Picks. Happy Shopping!
